gravity has every thing to do with static and dynamic structures down to the atomic level if u want to be a pro....just remember the newton's law F=ma or F(t)=md^2r/dt^2+cdr/dt+kr..where F(t)=input force, m=mass matrix, c=damping marix from dashpot and k=stiffness matrics from hookes law..and r=vector which represent x, y, z displacement and if u assemble all the vectors in all sixth degree of freedom which is three forces, Fx, Fy, Fz and moment Mx, My, Mz in every points into the global matrix, u can solve for r, the displacement and then the force on  all the points on the structure....and that's everything to structural engineering.  a flying plane can be considered as a dynamic structure...done
