http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Evander-Sno-c12986, had to spend the Saturday night in hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest in his side’s Eredivisie encounter against Feyenoord Rotterdam at De Kuip Stadion on September 29.
The 25-year-old fell to the ground in the 34th minute of the game, seizing his chest to alarm the nearby players. The medical team rushed to him in no time, and with the help of his personal defibrillator and the club’s
physician, the former Celtic and Ajax midfielder was able to walk off the ground moments later.
The Rotterdammers doctor, Casper van Eijck, revealed that the midfield ace had a cardiac arrest.
“Evander had a cardiac arrest which was followed by a shock from his internal defibrillator. And the shock is what he felt and that terrified him, which I could see in his eyes on the pitch. He was transported to a hospital because
the defibrillator caused arrhythmia [an abnormal beat of his heart], so he has to stay there for the night”, Van Eijck was quoted as saying to Reuters.
The Dutch midfielder, who arrived at McDOS Goffertstadion in the recently concluded summer transfer window after making 25 league appearances for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/RKC-Waalwijk-c40370, also suffered a cardiac arrest during his time at Amsterdam Arena in
September 2010.
However, the NEC head coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Pastoor, has denied all these claims, and has revealed that the promising midfielder only stayed the night in hospital for diagnosis, as he was not feeling well.
“We do not know what the situation is. Sno was not feeling well, so as a precaution he was taken to hospital for further diagnosis”, Pastoor was quoted as saying while talking to journalists.
NEC had to suffer a demoralising 5-1 defeat at the hands of Feyenoord in the absence of Sno. However, the NEC boss would be hoping that the versatile midfielder returns to match fitness before his side’s next Eredivisie encounter
against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/ADO-Den-Haag-c38221 on October 5.
