NEED A GOOD RATE/DEAL On A HOTEL IN MANHATTAN, NY, USA

hey is there anyone out there that possibly works for a hotel chain or knows someone that does that can help me get a good rate/deal on a hotel in Manhattan, NY, USA. I am traveling there with my hubby and another couple, we need 2 rooms and we are traveling Sept. 13-18...we are only finding really expensive like $350 a night minimum..I tried all the online hotel sites, hotel.com, orbitz, priceline..etc... PLEASE HELP IF U CAN.. THANKS.. NOT ASKING FOR A FREE ROOM JUST A DECENT RATE... we are actually looking to stay south of Central Park...

i always use craigslist vacation rentals--you get a much better rate 'cause your dealing with actually people and not a hotel chain--they'll work with you more...often entire apartment units are available for cheaper then a small hotel room
