There is a show I tape everyday, one where there are no repeat episodes, and the whole previous week's deleated itself off my DVR before I could burn them onto a dvd. I can download the episodes into parts off a website that would put them as either avi or wmv files but is there anyway possible to burn those onto a dvd using a dvd burner I have on my laptop. I put these on dvd so someone can watch it.

  1. Try this avi to dvd creater, Enhanced MPEG Encoder Engine Inside, AVI to DVD/VCD is even faster than Real-Time, DVD/VCD/SVCD Buner Engine Inside. You can free download it and have a try.

Just have a try and i hope it can be helpful to you.

Also, you can search some other software:

  2. In order to burn the files onto a DVD, you will need to convert them from your AVI or WMV files into MPEG 4 files. An MPEG 4 file is an audio+video compression.

This can be done using most video editing software.  I use the Final Cut Studio, but that's pretty pricey and only works on Mac.  If you're working on a PC, I recommend Adobe Premiere (adobe.com) or Vegas (sonycreativesoftware.com).  These are both expensive software programs and are not easy to learn.

Try majorgeeks.com and see if you can download a free file converter.  If that doesn't work, you could try using Windows Movie Maker, which I believe comes standard with any Windows OS.

  3. I had the same dilemma as you. I download  videos in AVI and WMV a lot but could not figure out how to convert and burn the videos to a DVD and watch that DVD on my regular DVD player connected to my TV.

I found a great solution after a lot of hours of searching on the net and testing out about 4 or 5 programs. This one is by far the easiest to use and works the best. The software program is called, Convert X to DVD. It converts almost any video format like .avi and .wma to DVD format and it burns it to a DVD all on one swoop.
