I'm your age and decided to do my room with 3 cream/off-white walls and one bright one. I chose a soft-ish green, but what's your favourite colour? The contrast looks great and my room is bright and looks a lot bigger.

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

My point is, you will get more of an idea of what colours go together and where to buy stuff from. collect photos together, of your ideas.

you can view the before and after photos and pick up some ideas.If you want to make a room look bigger go for pastel shades, dark colours make the walls seem to close in. We have just painted our  kitchen from a Wedge-wood blue to ivory linen- (cream colour) with  royal blue accessories, the cream colour takes on a  different tone with the light on at night - keep this in mind. good luck.

well my room is teal with lime green because i have a roxy bed set and the paint matches the bedding and everthing in my room so if u want it nutral get biege or off- white or if u like red u can do like i wall grey soand the rest red so its not so dark with all the red just remember all dark colors make the room look smaller so just try to go with lightish colors but i must say this is kinda a personal question because i cant choose the color 4 u

One wall hot pink (probably where you bed is, or where something would be right in the middle) and the other walls white. Get posters of all your fave bands, and put them up randomly. You could also get some pop art or vintage style posters - I love them!!
