NEED HELP WITH PRE CALC. ITS THE VERY BEGINNING, SO ITS KINDA EASY?

I cant figure this stupid thing out!

"find an equation of the Line L, Where L is perpendicular to y=5x and passes through the point (1,5).

(type your answer in slope-intercept form. Use intergers or fractions for any number in the expression)

I know that the new slope is -1/5 (since its a perpendicular line and its a negative reciprocal)

And I know the formula

y-5= -1/5 (x-1)

BUT I ALWAYS s***w UP SOMEWHERE...

Please, I really need the help.

y=5x has slope of 5,line prep. to it has slope of -1/5,

                   Y-5/X-1 = -1/5 then 5Y-25=-X+1 ,then

5Y=-X+26 , then Y=-1/5X + 26/5 is the equation of this line.

first distribute the right

y-5=(-1/5)x+(1/5)

now add 5,

y=(-1/5)x+(26/5)
