NEED HELP WITH VIRUSES

soo, i posted help b4 but it didn't quite help

my windows isn't genuine so they had some automatic virus scan come up to scan my computer but not remove it. The scan said i had over 1250 viruses. It wasn't finished either. Since its not genuine, when i press remove viruses it sends up some popup to get a genuine license so i still have the viruses s******g up my computer. I've disconnected the internet router from that specific computer and am using it to ask on my laptop. My computer is crazy slow, and has no internet. So.... what should i do? Just bring it in and have everything erased or is it still possible (with over 1250 viruses) to go and get a virus scanner and erase them? Or new computer? I'm afraid to plug any internet back in since that's what got me to 1250 viruses in the first place.

  1. Because you need more than one solution to your problems, I'll answer to each one, and lable them A, B, C, etc.

Important:  You DO NOT need to format any drives.

    A.  NAG fix. Removing Microsoft Notifier:

MICROSOFT has issued their legal fix for this, because they’ve had so many complaints.

Now, only for those running IE7 does MS now require "valadation".

So, you should first  first roll back to IE6 then follow instructions below to remove the NAG.

In Control Panel > Add Remove Programs, when you remove IE7, then older IE6 will be there by default.

Here is MS notifier removal instructions at their site:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921914/e...

When you complete the removal; next it is very important that you DO

Go to the MS site for the latest critical updates:

    Here:  http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupd...

    B.  Removal of all those Virus'

Do yourself a favor. Forget the others:

Get these two that actually is RELIABLE !!!

    AVAST and AD-AWARE.

These FREE tools do an EXCELLENT job.

    Avast free Home Edition

    Get it here:

    http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.ht...

And please do a "thorough" scan as soon as you get it downloaded. The user interface is simple. Click the left side, and in the top menu that comes up, select thorough scan.

When it finds a culprit it throws up an alarm, then you DELETE the culprit, (do not quaranteen).

Then allow it to run all of the time, and you will be completely protected. It will "automatically" update itself, also for free.

You only need to renew your registration once a year, also free.

Note: I KNOW of several people who have used AVG and Norton and have gotten a virus anyway.

Don't go with Zone Alarm as it is hoggy and conflicting.

I've tried them all, and have had wonderful results with DEPENDABLE AVAST for the last 5 years.

The corporation I work for uses the Pro version, and has never has an incident. Avast is your answer.

    C.

  2. Hey if ur system got infected with spyware and malware also this type of automatic virus scan comes and tel u to intall some antispyware or registry editor something like that.. If ur OS is not genuine first format ur drive, the genuine notification will go.. turn off your windows automatic updates.. and for ur virus problem install and run a antivirus and anti spyware.. but usually for these type of viruses the master file will be located in your hard disk and eventhough ur antivirus software deletes those infected files, thes master files will recreate them during system startup.. so while the antivirus or antispyware detets the virus or trojan just note down the names of the virus.. try to find out the files associated with those evils.. like .dll files & stuffs.. u can find out the names of those files with the help of search engines like yahoo &google..U need to delete those files manually..

Be careful, u should search it through those search engines and be sure that those files r associated with that virus or trojan..

Deleting files by mistake can makes ur system not to work..

  3. Have the people at btexpress look at your computer. The site is btexpress.page.t and it has great deals. See for yourself. The site is a real site that fix computers problems no matter how big and small.

  4. Hello RooROo, what you have is a form of spyware/malware and you can remove it by using this spyware program so click on the link to get started, the sooner the better ok. (http://www.superantispyware.com)  This is a very good spyware program and it does a good job of protecting and getting rid of (spyware, malware, adware, trojan horses, and some computer wormes)  So don't be afread to turn your computer back on because help is on the way. (smile)  Turn your computer back on, ignore the pop-ups , click on the link that I gave you, once in the site click on the  Free version of this spyware program, install it and run a scan right away ok  You will be happy with the results after the scan because it will get things back in order for you.  An if it (the spyware program) let you set the settings, set the settings to "Automatically" so that everytime you turn your computer on it will start a scan ok. And once you get this straighten out, make sure to run a Full System Scan using your antivirus program, also check on your Windows Updates as all of these programs are very important as for as keeping our computer protected from (Hackers, Viruses, Spyware, Malware, etc.) So keep all of your programs updated and run a scan at least once a week. Good Luck

  5. It is very possible to still remove the viruses, it just depends on how tenacious you want to be and if you think your data is worth saving.  Norton (even though it's a resource pig) does a fine job of doing this.  But my question is this, when you say that an automatic virus scan popped up, where exactly did it come from?  I had one of these pop up on my home computer and it was actually ad ware and was nearly impossible to be rid of.

The first place that I like to start when scanning for viruses or ads is a free source called Ad-aware.  You can download it from http://www.lavasoft.com  This will detect and REMOVE adware software.  Of course, being that you can't download, i.e. don't want to connect it to the internet, you could download it on another computer and burn it to CD, but make sure you download any updates as well - they will detect the more current bugs.

Hope this helps...  Like I said, it all depends how badly you want to save your data.  If your current copy of Windows isn't genuine and you take it in somewhere, you may have to pay a licensing fee.  Just thought I should warn you about that.

    Good luck!

  6. The Virus program just wants you to buy something off them or sign up. ao you do have a virus but the only way to know if he is really gone is to reformat+re-install cos it sounds like the virus has taken control, question does internet explorer open at all with a web page and if so is it the virus program that scannned your 1250 viruses?

  7. download and install this http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix...

reboot into safe mode and run

look for a new windows product key!
