Question:

NEED INDESTRUCTIBLE DOG TOYS???

My Corgi puppy is a monster! He has destroyed all of his toys, he must have gone through about 100 of them. Rumpy is tough, and he needs some "indestructible" dog toys. And keep in mind he has a big brother who is a great dane.

Here is a short list of toys he has destroyed:

Every rope toy

Tennis balls

Base balls and Soft balls

All stuffed animals

Nyla bones

Soft rubber toys

Blankets

Food Bowls

Bottles

And a pair of my friend dress shoes

It seems his goal in life is to destroy things. LOL I love him to death and want to make sure he has enough toys to play with, but my wallet is looking a little empty. So any suggestions.

He is walked multiple times a day for a long time so he gets plenty of exercise he just likes to chew. He has Kong's he hasn't destroyed but he doesn't like them that much.

  1. Lol he sounds like a monster! ^^ but cute. Anyway, most of that stuff is soft or can rip easily. Try something thats hard and tight. He might not be able to break it that good. Or ask a pet shop worker or a vet and ask them. Good luck on your puppy!

  2. I had a corgi once and she did the same thing!  Puppies are teething and constantly need to chew - they don't mean to destruct the toy.  Make sure you have bones available at all times.  I hope you're crating him as a puppy, otherwise your couch could be next!

  3. We have three large "outside" dogs and they don't have toys...well, other than the occasional squirrel and a few birds a year.  But we do buy them raw beef bones and once the marrow and meat is all gone, they still like to chew on the bone.  This is one bone they can't destroy.  They also like to chew on sticks.  Oh, yeah, one other thing...they love my husband's bar-be-que scrub brush (must be the grease).

  4. How about a hard rubber one, I have this thing for mine, it's a large giggle ball that she can't pick up, just chase around, very funny.  Puppies eat everything!

  5. dont give him your old shoes etc simply b/c you are saying to him here your allowed to chew on shoes. he wont know the difference between his shoes and yours. get him a knuckle bone from petsmart. are you putting something good in the kong? use peanut butter trust me he will like it then. try a football now nerf one but a real one. very hard to chew up. just make sure you watch him with any toy.

  6. lol :P

Kong stuff lasts the longest with my dogs as well. Have you tried using food with them? Plopping some peanut butter in there will certainly entice interest. The kong company also sells 'kong stuffers' which come in different flavors but suite the same purpose.

My dogs also love those huge bones. Some are pretty hardy and last a while. Others can be surprisingly brittle and pose a choking hazard.

One of my dogs also really likes car tires, lol. She tries moving them around, and gnawsat them. Seems to work for her? Don't know how safe this is, but in moderation, if nothing else works, give one of those a try.

  7. ok there is this thing its called a jolly ball for horses horses can, kick, bite, play and they wont break here is a pic and a place you can oreder from :)

hope you buy one and this helps :)

  8. Are you feeding him?..lol.

    Sorry, couldn't resist..

Honestly, if he is still in the puppy stage he's going to chew. It's just a babies way of learning no matter the species. I use to give my dog very large ham bones from a local bbq place they would give them to me so long as i got there first. Those would tithe her over for a while. You should also check with his vet and make sure he doesn't have an anxiety disorder.

  9. Ah! I told my friend Frodo my mini daschund was not a ninja freak monster dog!

Okey, here's what I do with Frodo, Frodo gets old shoes, bookbags (zippers removed) and cut up old tire for toys, and raw hides!

  10. uh metal pots wood lol
