    40,075.02 km (equatorial)

    40,007.86 km (meridional)

    40,041.47 km (mean)

    Diameter of the Earth is roughly 12742 km.

    2) Tidal effects result in an increase of the mean Earth-Moon distance of about 3.8 cm per year.

    3) The highest point on the Earth is on land is the peak of Mount Everest at 29,028 feet (8,848 meters) above sea level, Mount Everest is in the Himalaya mountain range, on the border of Nepal and Tibet.

    4) Lowest point on the Earth on land is the Dead Sea at 1,312 feet (399 meters) below sea level. The Dead Sea lies between Israel and Jordan.

    5) The highest temperature recored was on September 13, 1922, in El Azizia, Libya when the mercury hit 136 degrees Fahrenheit. El Azizia is near the Sahara desert, however temperatures have likely gotten even hotter in the actual desert, but weather stations aren't there to record it.

    6) The lowest temperature recorded was −89.6 °C (−128.6 °F) in Vostok Station, Antarctica in 1983.
