  1. I hate to say it, but if you want to play volleyball, you have to be able to run. Trust me. Also, just keep practicing and working at it, you'll get better. Get the fundamentals down and then you'll improve. Work on your jump, swing, toss, and approach. Good luck, you'll get it!

  2. I tried out for the volleyball team this year....but sadly i didnt make it.  I learn from my mistakes.  :)

One of my big mistake was i over hand served and spiked the same way. Remember, those are two different things.

Setting is pretty easy. If you have a volleyball, sit down somewhere in your house, throw the ball, not high enough to touch the ceiling, and practice. you dont always have to visit the volleyball court to practice.

the main things the coaches look for is confidence, ability to learn, and dont keep telling yourself that you wont make it. thats what i did. and look, i didnt make the team.

  3. YOu should really work on your upper body strength, especially for serving and spiking...i would just go to the gym and work work work!!!

  4. The trick is to feel like you are the best without trying to show it off.

I will assume that you are talking about volleyball?

Try your best and relax. If you s***w up the world is not going to end.

  5. concentrate in one either in spiking or setting,

  6. The best way to practice spiking is against a wall.  Stand back several feet, you will know how many once you start.  Spike the ball as straight down as possible and after it bounces against the wall spike it again.  This will improve your timing and accuracy.  The idea is to have full extension of your arm and a quick snap of your wrist at the top of the ball.

Serving should be practiced on the volleyball court.  I would practice several styles of serve, so that you can change up your serve and keep the opponent on their toes.  Can you float serve?  Power serve?  Short serve and make it?  You should be as accomplished as a pitcher in baseball when you serve.

Lastly, sadly running is an intregal part of conditioning.  There is simply no better way to increase your stamina.  If you are unwilling to make the sacrifice, then maybe you need to play ping pong.

    Good luck.

  7. I dont know what try out u wana do but on try out allways feel u are powerfull it doesnt matter how much u are but show that u are so powerful

  8. r u gonna overhand serve? if so then lift a few weights and try the bow-and arrow techniquew.if u dont know what they is ask around. im sure someone will know. spiking do the three step drop and setting (im a setter) u want to have the right touch on  the ball, frim fingers, and u need to be able to tip. also with setting u have to have good hand eye coordination and precise accuracy. another thing that might help u, since its these things r hard to explain while typing, is ask people u know who play volleyball to help u and give u a few pointers. different things work for different people so ull probably get varied answers but still they will probably be the same basic idea. hope this helps! and i hope u make the team. tell me if u do! (if u can) and remember body placement is everytihng!

  9. HEY!! don't worry!!! just be yourself.. coaches REALLY look at attitude at tryouts...  ur trying out 4 club rite?? well if so... REALLY focus on fundamentals... just go back to your basics and you should be fine!!! try out for a particular position that u really like, even if its not something you've played b4. and remember... club is ALL ABOUT PRACTICES/... tournaments are just a way of showing watchu've got... practice doesn't make perfect.. PERFECT PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!!!
