  1. They need a large, spacious C&C cage. http://www.guineapigcages.com/

They need hay and plain pellets. http://www.oxbowhay.com/ or http://www.kmshayloft.com/

They need a variety of and veggies (daily) and fruit (1-2 a week). http://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/diet...

They need a friend. Don't breed or buy while shelter animals die. http://www.petfinder.com/

They need a backup exotic vet, in case of emergency. http://www.guinealynx.info/vetlist.html Also, read the care and medical guide on there.

    Cage http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js... ($19-$49)

and if you need names here is a site http://exoticpets.about.com/cs/namelists...

  3. Okay you will need:

(1)A hutch,if you haven't already got one. The hutch size for a pair of guinea pigs should be at least,3ft-3ft bigger if possible.

Or an "Indoor Cage" to keep it in,whatever you prefer.

(2)A water bottle rather than a bowl as these can get soiled in,just look around a pet shop they always have bottles.(just saying in case you didn't use a water bottle for you last guinea pig).

(3)A ceramic feed bowl, rather than a plastic one that they can chew on.

(4)Bedding,such as large chip shavings(not "saw-dust" of fine chip shavings as this can go in their eyes & cause infections.),or you can use care-fresh bedding, though this is quite expensive. Just check out the bedding at your pet shop.

(5)Feed,the feed they eat should have "Vitamin C" in it,as unlike rabbits guinea pigs(like us) can't produce their own Vit C,so choose a brand/make WITH it in. There are many makes/brands of guinea pigs mix or pellets, just choose a good one at your pet shop.Hay which is VERY important to guinea pigs,so choose a sweet, crisp NON-moldy hay.(just for extra info on hay,it should be at least 6 months old before feeding it to pets/farm animals as before 6 months it can cause digestive problems.)

(6)Toys,such as ones from a pet shop designed for guinea pigs/rabbits or home made ones, like empty loo rolls or cardboard boxs,or natural pinecones(without chemicals on them).

(7)A hay rack,to keep hay OFF the cage floor,if needed.

(8)A snug cardboard box or plastic/wooden guinea pig hide-away,as guinea pigs like to sleep in a hidden place.

(9)I wasn't to sure if you already have 1 guinea pig & you are getting another,so if you don't have one already,i would suggest to get a pair of piggies,as this is what they prefer.

    (10) If you want some training treats,to hand tame it. There are many makes in pet shops.

    So,

    (1)A hutch/Indoor cage (min,3ft-3ft)

    (2)water bottle

    (3) Feed bowl,ceramic.

    (4)bedding.

    (5)Feed(WITH vitamin c).

    (6)Toys.

    (7)Hay rack.

    (8)A hide-away.

    (9)Another guinea pig?

    (10) Treats.

    Names: Frodo,Merrie,Pip-squeak,Percy,Petal,Rose...

    Ginger,Sunny,Jackie,Bubbles.

    Okay i think thats it!

Hope this helps & good luck with your new piggie! x*x

  4. i recomend timothy hay pellets instead of hay plus the pelllets really absorb liquids so if you get vitaman c liquid stuff you can put it on the pellets

  5. I got mine a few days ago. :)

    they are adorable.

if he is scared at first make sure you have some treats with you and have them in your hand while you pat him with your other hand. I pat mine with the front of my hand so I don't squish him.

  6. How about a name like BUSTER? or Gizmo? Piggies love fruit and veggies!! Broccoli makes their pee stink so limit that veggie to once a week, make sure its all raw.. They love timothy hay and grass!!! THEY also have to eat guinea pig pellets made just for them, they can’t keep vitamin C in their bodies so they SHOULD NOT eat rabbit food, it looks the same so be careful when purchasing it!! If you have to in a pinch give him rabbit food give him a orange wedge daily with it.. Guinea pigs food has added vitamins in it just for them. I made the mistake of giving my guinea pigs some of those guinea pig sticks made from seeds don’t do that it got all stuck in my guinea pigs neck and cause a lot of problems inside, not pretty.. NOW TO KEEP THE CAGE ODER FREE!!! I use about 20 sheets of news paper at the bottom of the cage topped with this GREAT ORDER eliminator cage litter, called CRITTER COUNTRY, this is the BEST stuff for the piggies, so don't forget the news paper lined up at the bottom it will help absorber the urine and the critter country will help with the smell its great combo. If your piggies misses the shavings, put some in a corner for him to sleep on, but you will be so HAPPY with the new litter there will be no smell.. it lasts for over a week if done right I also keep my empty tissues boxes for them to hid in they love it, also any toilet paper used rolls they love to have fun with. If you get a problem with ants getting to their fruit just use a fine line of Vaseline around the legs of the cage or base of the cage to keep the ants from crossing, and always, always keep them with plenty of water!!! THEY ARE THE BEST PETS I sure miss my babies. Anyway GOOD LUCK!! MORE INFO FOR YOU! http://www.mgpr.org/MGPR/Guinea%20Pig%20...

  7. Guinea pigs are SOCIAL and therefore need to live in pairs. They will be unhappy if they're alone - please do get a pair.

www.guinealynx.info and www.guineapigcages.com are both great websites to look at :)

You're better off looking there, there is so much about them to know it's hard to tell you everything.
