NEW REPRODUCTIVE TECHNOLOGIES-- Report help, please?

You are to write a report on the potential use of new reproductive technologies and/or genetic manipulation with reference to your chosen plant. (MY PLANT IS THE MACADAMIA) This report is to be written for a group of 14 to 15 year old students.

THE REPORT

The report should:

•Include a description of these new technologies and/or genetic manipulations.

•Include a discussion of the possible biological and economic impact of these technologies and/or genetic modifications on your chosen plant

•Include a clear, concise definition of any new term used

Okay, so my plant is the macadmia (macadamia integrifolia). I understand what I'm supposed to do, but I can't seem to find any new reproductive technologies on the macadamia! The report is due in soon, and I have absolutely NOTHING done.

Please help!

You need to start with general background of genetic manipulations and the new technologies.  Then discuss your plant and the economic implications it currently has.  If you cannot find anything on genetic manipulation of your plant, speculate on how the technology you previously discussed could potentially be applied to your plant.

Look into selective breeding of the macadamia or agricultural/breeding practices for the plant.
