NEW TO DIRT BIKES CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME BASIC INFO TO KNOW thanks?

I am New and my son is starting dirt biking He is 12 .

What is the Basic Info for Birt Bikes

like what is cc and how to understand how cc works and stuff like that

And maybe what kind of bike my son should start out with he is:

5-1' 85 lb

He should try a Honda CR 125. That should do him well!

Make sure he has all the gear as well!!

Get something that both his feet can touch the ground. (Stand on pegs when it gets rough, grab the tank w/both knees ,keep the front wheel pointed in the direction you want to go and grab a FIST FULL of throttle!)

PS. Your a good Dad!--starting out on a dirt bike will give the skills to ride the road when time is right! It will create his instincts!

cc stands for cubic centimeters. At his size anywhere from 75cc to 100cc is probably best. He will probably find 125cc a little big, although it is a commonly used size, so if he plans to keep his dirt bike for awhile, 125cc might be a good idea.

i would say get him a 80 or 85 that's what i started out with there a little under powered but really easy to handle there a good beginner bike.  and cc means cubic centimeters. and what that mean is it would take 85 cubic centimeters of water to fill in the motor.
