NFL Breaking News: Percy Harvin collapses after a migraine
Percy Harvin, Minnesota Vikings Pro Bowler will spend the night in the hospital after suffering from a migraine. On Thursday evening Harvin faced one of the most terrifying episodes of his life, the Viking collapsed on the field during a practice run with the team. He was immediately taken to the hospital by an ambulance.
Harvin had been suffering headaches previously as well according to the team and had missed out on more than two weeks of the team’s training camp. He returned to the field on Wednesday and seemed quite normal according to his teammates.
Brad Childress, Minnesota Vikings head coach told the reporters he categorized Harvin’s pass out under a migraine attack. He also said that Harvin had faced a similar accident during his college years and was taken to a hospital.
“I don't know how they classify it. Not really a seizure but he had some trouble over here, I'd be remiss if I tried to qualify it one way or the other. He seemed like he was stable,” said Brad Childress.
Childress further told the press that the trouble began when Harvin looked towards the sky and during the team’s special drill, soon after he went to the Dr. Sheldon who is the team’s physician. He came out onto the field shortly but started trembling and fell to the ground; the episode was scary enough to halt the practice.
Teammates and coaches swarmed around him as the reporters observed from a distance. Medical assistance was called upon without delay. The Minnesotans continued their drills while Harvin was being looked after but the drills were stopped after ten minutes. Teammates grouped up to pray, while Harvin was being loaded into the ambulance.
According to the reports Brad Childress left the headquarters and spent his afternoon with Harvin in the hospital.
“Percy appreciates everyone's concern. He is alert and resting comfortably, but will remain in the hospital overnight”, announced Childress via Vikings official website this morning.
