So I am playing in a little 'just for fun' fantasy league with my husband and some friends. Thing is, I have never played before and I would like to do good.... Soooo.... what/who do I need to have a good team? What startegy is there to having the best team, not just the best players? Let me in on it all!!!

  1. In the first round get a QB bound to have a good season like tom brady or peyton manning

    next get a wide reciever

then form good ofensive and defensive line

  2. Check your leagues scoring settings, if your husband or someone you know made the league they should show you the settings. Different leagues have different settings, for example a passing TD might be worth 5 points while a running TD might be worth 7. Draft your players by position, if you see your leagues settings and see that rushing TD are worth more then Passing draft a running back first.

Here is the order i usually draft in

    1. RB

    2. RB

    3.WR

    4.QB

    5. WR

    6. WR

    7. TE

    8. Bench player

    9. Defense

    10. Kicker

    11. Bench player

It is important not to waste your 3 first picks on a QB because a star quarter back like Tom Brady who had 50 TD's last year isnt gonna get 50 TD's again, he'll probably get around 30-40. Big name quarterbacks like peyton manning will probably score you about 280 fantasy points, while a 5th or 4th round quarterback like Ben Rolishberger or Derek Anderson will score you 260 fantasy points and he is 3 rounds behind a 280 scorer like manning.  So the point is don't draft a quarterback in the top 3 rounds.

  3. being a beginner i would say the most important thing you can look at is the depth chart. make sure that whomever you draft is at the top of their teams depth chart at their position.
