  1. No, because if I'm a NFL coach, and my kicker can't routinely hit a 40 yarder, I don't want him.

40 yards really isn't that impressive in the NFL anymore, really, its the opposite, its routine. Even a 50 yarder is becoming more and more frequent with some kickers getting progressively closer to 60 all the time.

More to the point, it really defeats the purpose of the game, the idea is to move forward, always attempting to get more points. There are subtle strategies to the game that make it entertaining, how to go up by 4, should you go for 2, etc, etc.

  2. I agree!  They changed it for the NBA and made 3 pt shots...why not??

  3. Why do people want to mess with stuff? Look at Nascar, when it changed from Winston cup they changed the rules and Nascar is not near as exciting to watch now

  4. No way! That would just s***w up the game

  5. no they shouldnt change the system it would bve kinda weird seeing teams go backwards just to score more points on a field goal... the game with go longer with all the delay of games calls

  6. I don't think it is a good idea, because this proposed systems punishes good offensive drives and rewards not so good ones.

An offensive drive stopped on the red zone is more point worthy than an offensive drive to the 40 yard line

  7. Yes!!!

after seeing the dallas buffalo game last yr where Folk had to kick two 52(or 53 cant remember) yd FGs they deserved 4pts mostly b/c those are almost always impossible... I personally hate the "freezing the kicker" callin time out move...((Stupid Shanahan!))...

  8. Absolutely not! A field goal has always been worth 3 points in every level of football, not just the NFL and not only is that not going to change at any point in the foreseeable future, it should never change period.
