NFL: Kenny McKinley’s suicide shocks his friends
Not in their wildest dreams had the Members of the Denver Broncos thought that the talkative and fun loving 23-year-old wide receiver, McKinley would put a gun to his head and shoot himself. However, they were shocked to find out about his suicidal death,
when his body was found at his house on Monday, the 20th of September.
According to the officials of the investigating committee McKinley was depressed about his knee-surgery, and soon after the surgery was heard to make statements that he should just kill himself.
The American football wide receiver for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League, McKinley played football at South Carolina. He was born on the 31st of January 1987, in Mableton Georgia. He is a graduate of the 2005 class of the South
Cobb High School in Austell. The rating website Rivals.com rated the American athlete as the 29th best player in his native state of Georgia and 54th best athlete in America.
When he started as a freshman in the 2005, he really worked hard towards the sport and his dedication was seen when he handled the punt return duties at the same time as he was a wide receiver. He was the athlete who was given the third position in team
when he began with six games. McKinley managed 25 catches for 291 yards and in a return he had 18 punts and 83 yards.
During his second year in 2006, McKinley increased the number of his games from 6 to 13 and this time he managed to receive 51 catches and 880 yards, and thus landed in the second spot in the team, the first position holder being Sidney Rice. The most remarkable
game that was played by McKinley was the one in which he had 8 catches for 110 yards. This game was played against Auburn. This was the first 1000-yard game in which he played as a receiver in his whole career.

The whole country and the football fans are deeply saddened at the death of the great athlete. His body was found wounded with a gun shot from a self-inflicting gun in a pool of blood in the master bedroom of his apartment. From the very next day of his
death, the authorities started revealing details of his death. The officials of the Arapahoe County Sheriff said that they did not find any suicide note in his bedroom or anywhere else in the apartment. It is stated by the authorities that they were reported
about McKinley’s suicide by one of his female friends who found the body in his apartment in Centennial. The authorities say that they were called in at 3.35 pm on the 20th of September.
The President and CEO of Denver Broncos Pat Bowlen, grieved at the loss of such a hard working athlete, saying that McKinley was like family to Denver Broncos, and that the organization and members of Denver Broncos will miss him a lot.
On the other hand, the head coach of Denver Broncos Josh McDaniels said that the death of McKinley is an irreparable loss to the football team and his family. He also expressed his heartfelt condolences to his friends and family.
