NFL News: Manning Leads In Pro Bowl Ballot

Every year, until the end of the season, normal people with normal lives get to vote on which big-time NFL stars they wish to see in the NFL Pro Bowl.
The Pro Bowl is a tradition dating back to 1939 and is basically a game that features the best of the AFC against the best of the NFC.
This year, online voting on NFL.com is still open, and voters can continue to cast their votes for the next four weeks.
At the moment, the top two candidates with the most votes for the Pro Bowl are Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick and Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning. Manning is currently leading with 496,658 votes at last count, with Vick not far behind with 405,292
votes.
Rounding out the top ten in order of number of votes are: Adrian Peterson, a runningback for the Minnesota Vikings with 400,291 votes. New England Patriots QB Tom Brady is at number four with 368,469 votes, while Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is not
far behind with 343,177 votes. New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees and San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers are at numbers six and seven with 296,552 and 291,071 votes, respectively. Two runningbacks and a tight end round out the top ten with Tennessee Titans’
Chris Johnson, Houston Texans’ Arian Foster and Chargers’ Antonio Gates with 266,835, 263,359, and 252,291 votes, respectively.
The 2011 Pro Bowl will once again return to Hawaii, set to start at 7:30 PM on Sunday January 30, 2011 at Aloha Stadium.
Aloha Stadium is currently the venue with the most Pro Bowls held from 1980 to 2009 and will feature the 2010 and 2011 Pro Bowls for a total of 31 Pro Bowls.
Last year, in the 2010 Pro Bowl, the AFC won with a 41-34 score. The series was tied with both the NFC and AFC winning 20 previous Pro Bowls apiece. Matt Schaub, QB for the AFC from the Titans, won the MVP award in the Pro Bowl, which was held at Sun Life
Stadium in Miami, Florida.
The Colts, formerly from Baltimore, are the Pro Bowl’s lead lead team with six players earning MVP awards, more than any other NFL team.
So polls are still open for the Pro Bowl, for which fans’ votes account for 1/3 of the total vote and players accounting for another 1/3. Votes can be cast until the end of December so make sure to cast your vote and bring your favorite player to the 2011
Pro Bowl!
