NFL News: Ravens Todd Heap and Steelers Heath Miller Out With Injuries
In Sunday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens tight end Todd Heap injured his hamstring during the first quarter in Sunday’s game. He was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Heap was taken down on the Ravens’ first offensive play of the game. He had no catches but he was very important to the team because he was supposed to play as a blocker in the place of starting fullback Le’Ron McClain, who is out with a sprained ankle.
The ten year professional from Arizona State University has 37 receptions for 546 yards and five touchdowns so far this season, averaging 14.8 yards per reception.
His career stats include 464 receptions for 5439 yards and 41 touchdowns, along with 8 rushing attempts for 61 yards.
On the other side of the field, Pittsburgh Steelers’ tight end Heath Miller suffered a concussion later in the game. In the third quarter of the game, Miller collided with Ravens cornerback Chris Carr about thirteen minutes into the quarter. Miller remained
down on the field for several tense moments.
Miller had only one reception for nine yards before being carted out.
The six year professional from Virginia State University has had 32 receptions for 375 yards and one TD.
His career statistics include 275 receptions for 3096 yards and 28 touchdowns.
It just seemed like a bad game to be a tight end in.
For the Steelers, Ben Roethlisberger, Bryan McFadden and Troy Polamalu are injured, with Big Ben listed as probable, McFadden as questionable, and Polamalu also as probable.
For the Ravens, only Dawan Landry is in the inured roster, with Todd Heap able to play next week.
The Steelers will play against the Houston Texans next week on Monday Night Football at Reliant Stadium.
The Ravens will be at home to play against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday December 12.
Stay tuned!
