  1. The NFL Playoffs are about to begin this weekend with the wild card round and there are several excellent NFL betting opportunities on the board. With two games being played on Saturday and two games being played on Sunday this weekend, you’re going to want to make sure you’ve booked the entire weekend off. The Indianapolis Colts won their division with a victory over the Titans in week 17, but the biggest story is how the Seahawks managed to squeeze into the playoffs with a 7-9 record.

New Orleans Saints –10.5 vs. Seattle Seahawks +10.5 – Saturday 4:30PM EST

This game has the most potential to end up as a blowout, but that doesn’t mean that the Seahawks don’t have a chance against the defending Superbowl Champions. New Orleans hasn’t been as sharp this season as they were last season, but they should be able to cover against the Seahawks. Seattle doesn’t know whether Hasselbeck or Whitehurst will start on Saturday, but neither QB is going to lead that offence downfield consistently like Brees and the Saints offence. Reggie Bush and Ivory are back in the backfield for New Orleans, which will take some of the pressure off of Brees and the receivers. Seattle has proven on occasion that they can play great defence, but to stop one of the highest ranked offences in the league is a lot to ask. Seattle already got smoked 34-19 this season in New Orleans and if they expect to keep things close this weekend they’re going to need to play much better defence then they did the 1st time these teams met.

    My Pick – Saints –10.5

New York Jets +3 vs. Indianapolis Colts –3 – Saturday 8:00PM EST

Indianapolis Colts have won 4 games in a row to end the regular season and win the AFC South, but they haven’t looked that great all season long. Manning has had some problems with INT’s this season and the Jets secondary isn’t a defence you want to play when you’re throwing INT’s. Rex Ryan is going to have his team ready to play football on Saturday night and I expect a tough, gritty game from the Jets on both sides of the ball. The Jets should focus on running the ball, as they have the 4th best rushing offence and are going up against the Colts 25th ranked rushing defence. The Colts have Addai back now, but Manning is going to need to be the main focus if the Colts want to win. Last year in the AFC Championship Game the Colts beat the Jets, but this year I think it’s going to go the other way around and I’ll be on the Jets at +3.

    My Pick – Jets +2.5

Baltimore Ravens –3 vs. Kansas City Chiefs +3 – Sunday 1:00PM EST

Kansas City Chiefs have been electric this season to say the least and surprised many people with the way they’ve played all season long. On Sunday the Ravens will travel to Kansas City to play the Chiefs and there is no doubt that the Chiefs will benefit from the home field advantage. Baltimore has a lot more experience in the playoffs then the Chiefs do though and that could prove to be a huge factor in this game. The Chiefs are going to need to rely on Charles and Cassel to put up enough points to keep up with Flacco and Rice. The Ravens have the advantage of defence, but Kansas has proven this season that they can play defence as well. Flacco hasn’t produced the best offence in Baltimore again this season and I think this game will be closer then most people think. I’m going to take the Chiefs in this game to pull up the upset at home in front of their fans.

    My Pick – Chiefs +3

Green Bay Packers +2.5 vs. Philadelphia Eagles –2.5 – Sunday 4:00PM EST

This game should be a lot closer then some of you probably expect. I expect the Eagles to pull through and cover the spread this Sunday, but it’s going to be difficult. It’s no secret that Vick and Samuel will be playing hurt this weekend and the Eagles also have some key injuries on defence. Thankfully for Philly, the Packers aren’t doing any better in the injury department and will be playing without several role players. The key to this game is going to be whether the Packers defence can cause enough trouble for Vick. Green Bay has an amazing pass defence this season and if they can cause a couple turnovers this game could go either way.
