NFL Power Rankings Week 10 (Part 1)

With the NFL Regular Season almost halfway up, and the prospect of the Super Bowl looming over the shoulders of the teams, it’s time to take a look at the Power Rankings after a great performance last week by most NFL teams.
Starting from the bottom of the list, we have the Buffalo Bills, currently placed as the lowest team in the NFL, at number 32. It’s not really surprising, seeing as their defense isn’t fond of protecting players when it needs to the most. They seem to be
trying hard, and the offense is not at fault. If the defensive coordinator tried to focus a bit more on blocking, the Bills might even win a game! However, their chances of going to the Super Bowl (SB) are zero-to-none, with an 0-8 record.
Next up are the Carolina Panthers, with a 1-7 record, it’s not surprising, but none of the team, nor staff, are stressing about making it to the SB, since they lost three players in Monday’s game, bringing their total to nine players out this season.
The Dallas Cowboys are going through their worst start in 26 years. Now at 1-7, most people believe that the head coach, Wade Phillips, is at fault, but getting rid of him won’t do anything. The interim head coach, Jason Garrett, is the reason that Dallas
just can’t seem to win a game. He seems to favor passing and doesn’t focus on running, which is why they haven’t shown their full potential this year.
The Cincinnati Bengals are here at number 29 on the list, the same as last week, and are called, simply, a bad football team with bad staff. With a 2-6 record, the team heads might want to consider replacing QB Carson Palmer, who has grown steadily worse
this season. Nobody really expected them to win against the Steelers in Week 3; they just had some luck on their side, and some problems on Pittsburgh’s end that gave them the win.
The Denver Broncos’ QB Kyle Orton can’t be blamed for his poor record since last season. The rest of the team seems to have trouble running the ball and stopping oncoming offenses, and has been a disappointment since the 2009 season, which is why they are
at number 28 this week.
The San Francisco 49ers fell one place from last week, and are now warming the number 27 spot. Troy Smith is not the answer to the 49ers’ problems, but playing well will find him a place on the starting roster in the coming weeks. San Francisco had won 2
and lost 6.
The Arizona Cardinals, who are 3-5, fell one place from Week 9, and are at slot 26 this week, thanks to major quarterback problems. The head coaches should be getting rookie John Skelton ready for play, seeing as their problems are here to stay for the season.
Skelton has raw throwing power, but can be fine tuned, and would play better than any other QBs that are currently on the roster.
The Detroit Lions find themselves at number 25 this week, down 2 from last week, mainly due to their staring QB, Matthew Stafford, being injured again. He is obviously the best candidate for the position, but if he can’t keep himself healthy for longer than
two weeks, the Lions will find themselves as a .500 team from here on out.
Like many other teams this season, the Seattle Seahawks are also facing disappointment due to injuries. They seemed to be very relaxed and not even trying last week against the visiting Giants, mainly due to their inadequate QB, Charlie Whitehurst. Falling
7 places to number 24 this week, Seattle is just hoping that Matt Hasselbeck gets better soon, so they can add some more wins to their 4-4 record.
The remaining teams’ Power Rankings will discussed in the next articles.
