NFL Power Rankings Week 10 (Part 3)
This is a continuation of the previous articles, discussing the NFL Power Rankings as of Week 10.
Winning over the Bills isn’t really anything to show off about, but the Chicago Bears have moved up 6 ranks to number 13 this week because of it. Jay Cutler gave a good performance last week, making no mistakes, although the offense wasn’t great. He still
had enough space to throw, which gave them the victory, putting their record at 5-3.
The Kansas City chiefs fell from number 8 to number 12 this week, after a loss to division rival Raiders last week. They almost won the game, with well controlled rushing, but now have no room for error, since the Chargers are their main competitors for
the AFC West crown. They have a 5-3 record as of Week 9.
Luckily for the Green Bay Packers, they have a bye week in Week 10, allowing players to heal from injuries, with a 6-3 record. They moved up 2 spots to number 11 this week, seeing as they still find a way to win, even with injury related losses in both offense
and defense.
The Philadelphia Eagles need to step up even more after last week’s win against the Colts. Currently at number 10 from last week’s number 14, they need to beat the Redskins this week, who they are clearly better than. To win, they need to improve on their
defense, most necessarily in the back end. With a 5-3 record, they need all the improvements they can find to make them the winners that they truly are.
The Tennessee Titans moved up one spot from last week, to number 9, with a 5-3 record. Randy Moss is now with the Titans, and makes a lot of sense, since their two-year wide receiver, Kenny Britt, will have to sit out till next month. Head coach Jeff Fisher
would probably be able to deal with Moss, since he has always been able to deal with difficult players.
The New Orleans Saints have improved a lot over their last two games, moving up one to number 8 on the Power Rankings this week. They aren’t exactly on a roll but they have a chance in the NFC South race as the season moves on. They are currently at 6-3.
The Indianapolis Colts fell 4 spots to number 7 this week after last week’s loss to the Eagles. Currently at 5-3, the team’s injuries are catching up. They are, and will continue to be, one of the AFC’s best teams as long as Peyton Manning is in the lineup.
The New England Patriots fell from number 1 to number 6 this week, thanks to the horrible decision to trade Randy Moss. Their deep passing game is now deeply affected, but they may have a chance next season, if Brandon Tate develops. They still have a good
record, at 6-2.
Veteran running back Michael Turner has gotten a lot better over the last couple of games, and not a moment too soon, putting the Atlanta Falcons at number 5 this week, up 2 from last week. Turner completes their offense, and would be a danger to any opposing
team once they can control the clock, like in last week’s game against the Buccaneers.
After a poor performance against the Saints in Week 8, Ben Roethlisberger seems to have gotten his game back, in a victory against the Bengals in Week 9. It wasn’t an overwhelming victory or a great game like many of the Steelers’ others, but they still
did what they had to do. That places the Pittsburgh Steelers at number 4 on the Power Rankings this week, up 2 from last week, with a 6-2 record.
The remaining teams’ position on the Power Rankings list will be discussed in the next articles.
