NFL: Power Rankings Week 12 (Part 1)

With only six games left in the Regular Season, it is time once again to take a look at the NFL Power Rankings.
The 1-9 Carolina Panthers are the last on our list of Power Rankings at #32. The Panthers are usually able to keep control of the ball during most of the game, but in all nine of their losses, they lost the possession time battle to each one of the opposing
teams. Nothing more. They simply fail to keep the ball in their hands and force more turnovers than any other team in the NFL.
The #31 slot on the NFL Power Rankings goes to the Detroit Lions. There is no reasoning behind their 2-8 record. They are simply a terrible team who have won four games while losing 38 since the 2008 season.
After allowing the Bills to make 35 points in the second half, the 2-8 Cincinnati Bengals are at #30 this week, down two from last week. They simply need to redesign their team and strategy from scratch.
The 3-7 Arizona Cardinals fell two places to appear at #29 this week. They seem to be one of the many teams this season that are going down the drain, but the Cardinals seem to do so without a fight.
The 2-8 Buffalo Bills are at #28 this week, up two from last week, after becoming more competitive and working harder than they have since the beginning of the season. They have shown in their victory last week over the Bengals that they are a force to be
reckoned with and teams should be careful not to upset them or else they might end up outscoring your team in the second half 35-0, much like they did to Cincinnati.
The 3-7 Denver Broncos are 3-7 and are placed at #27 this week, down one from last week. Sure, they might have won a couple of games, but, really, losing five out of their last six games? They seem to be spiraling downwards uncontrollably.
The San Francisco 49ers are 3-7, but that’s not what places them at #26 on the Power Rankings. They scored no points against Tampa Bay’s 21 in their last game, and the owners seemed to have found an answer to their awful performance. But is firing head coach
Mike Singletary really the answer to their problems? Only time will tell.
The 3-7 Minnesota Vikings are having a bad season this year, even with Brett Favre, which puts them at #25 this week, down one from last week. Firing head coach Brad Childress may be an answer to their problems, but can the new interim head coach, Leslie
Frazier, do what Garrett did for the Cowboys?
Speaking of the 3-7 Dallas Cowboys, they are up five from last week, to #24 mostly thanks to their new head coach, Jason Garrett. Jon Kitna is also getting better as the starting QB, since Tony Romo was out. After winning both of their games under Garrett,
nobody seems to be in a hurry to get Romo back.
The Cleveland Browns are down one from last week to be 3-7 at #23 this week. In a season filled with firing head coaches, the Browns’ head coach, Eric Mangini, might want to start winning some more games if he wants to be back next season.
The St. Louis Rams are down one from last week to #22 this week. Sure, they’re 4-6, but they haven’t won a single game away from home this year. If they want a chance at the NFC West crown, they should start winning some.
The 5-5 Seattle Seahawks are at #21 this week, down one from last week. However, things look like they could change with QB Matt Hasselbeck emerging from the injury-prone player to the passing star that he is.
The remaining teams of the NFL will be discussed in the next articles. Stay tuned!
