NFL: Power Rankings Week 12 (Part 3)

This is a continuation of the previous article of the same name, discussing the NFL Power Rankings as of Week 12 of the Regular Season. #20 to #11 were discussed previously and now we will finish with the last eight teams.
The 6-4 New York Giants are down two from last week to end up at #10 on the Power Rankings. Mistakes, turnovers, and injuries are bringing the Giants down in the standings and unless they can pull themselves together, they won’t have a chance at the #1 slot
where they were a few weeks earlier.
The 6-4 Indianapolis Colts moved up from #10 to #9 this week even after a loss to the Patriots last week. Sure, they have a home field advantage next week, but the Chargers will give them a run for their money.
The New Orleans Saints are up one from last week to appear at #8 on the Week 12 Power Rankings. With a 7-3 record and losing some key starters to injury, the Saints need to buck up to beat the Cowboys on Thanksgiving.
The Green Bay Packers stay at #7 this week after winning their last four games in a row. QB Aaron Rodgers has been playing a lot better as well, scoring seven TDs in his last two games.
The 7-3 Philadelphia Eagles stay at #6 for another week thanks to starting QB, Michael Vick. He showed just what he could do in the Eagles’ 59-28 victory over the Redskins a few weeks ago, in which Vick made four TD passes and two rushing TDs.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are getting comfortable with being #5 for another week. The 7-3 team had 163 penalty yards in their game against the Raiders and still won by 32 points.
The 8-2 New York Jets dropped one slot this week to end up at #4 this week on the Power Rankings, even after winning their last three games, two of which were in overtime. They have a good chance of moving up next week after playing the bungling Bengals,
who are most likely to lose.
The Baltimore Ravens increase their record to 7-3 and to slot #3 this week after the defense has shown what it is capable of last week against the Panthers. Defensemen Ed Reed and Ray Lewis both had interceptions that resulted in TDs on two successive plays,
and look like they’re just getting started.
#2 on the Power Rankings again this week are, of course, the New England Patriots. They are on their way to the playoffs and, after beating the Colts, have to make sure to beat the Jets on December 6th so that they don’t have to play Indianapolis
again.
Once again at #1 on the Week 12 NFL Power Rankings are the Atlanta Falcons. Their pass protection was perfect in their victory over the Rams, who are leading the NFL in sacks. They just have to make sure that they do the same against Green Bay next week
to increase their winning streak to five games.
The Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys jumped the most this week, with both teams moving up five slots on the Power Rankings. The Miami Dolphins fell the most, moving down five places.
Week 12 will begin on Thanksgiving, Thursday November 25 with three games, 12 games on Saturday November 28 and one on Monday November 29. Stay tuned!
