I dont know why some people think that the Olmypic champion in the 100M, 200M and 4 by 100 gold medal winner Usain Bolt can play in the NFL. He would get killed. Im Jamaican and proud of what Bolt accomplished he put Jamaica on the map. But it take more then just speed to play in the NFL. What you guys think? Can you imagine if Ray Lewis get a clean shot on Usain Bolt coming across the middle it wouldnt be pretty. Read the link, read the replies. Its obvisous these people dont know S**t about football

  1. i agree with you all the way...bolt would not last 2 mintues in the nfl

  2. the first time someone like ken hamlin or laron landry gets a clean shot on him when he does some slant rout he will be done...and i would laugh violently

  3. Why does everyone think he cant take a hit?  He looks stronger and bigger than most wide receivers Ive seen.

I dont care if its running in grass, sand or on ice.  The guy is pure speed.

Even NFL stars without the pads and running on track couldnt come close to his speed.

The only factor would be could he learn to play the game and can he catch the ball and could the qb get the ball to him at full speed in a game.

And I doubt very seriously if he did play football that the coach would have him running across the middle.  Why in the world would you do that?  Hes a burner, there isnt a corner than could keep up with him without help.  Even as a decoy he would stretch out the defense helping any offense tremendously.

  4. he's built perfectly to be a WR but who the h**l knows if he's even ever played football before? gotta have skill to run those routes

  5. interesting

  6. serously who says these things?  people should know that Usain wont be able to run as fast with that full body gundam wing anti tank armour weighing him down.

  7. is anybody else really glad the olympics are over?

  8. It would be a terrible waste of a great athlete. You need more than just speed to be a great half-back - Bolt probably has nothing more.

  9. Listening to the Olympics sports commentators makes me realize that many of these people are not in tune with other sports.

Usian Bolt is a rocket on the track.  However, if you remove the track and replace it with grass or turf, add shoulder pads and other gear, then throw in oncoming players that are looking to crush you, then Bolt would not fare nearly as well.  Once you took Bolt off course with a couple blockers or tacklers, he would be an easier target than most people would realize.

He should stick with track and field ... nuff said

  10. it's been tried before. back in the 80's, the 49ers, had track star Renaldo Nehemiah, for a couple of seasons.

  11. He may have a few great kick returns, but the first time he takes a major shot from a defender and he will break in half.

  12. I've been a track coach and football coach in my life, and I'll be real, football player make good track n field athletes, but track to the gridiron is hit or miss. There's more to football than running really fast. Gotta take a hit, gotta deliver the blow, and gotta run those routes, and be fearless.

Football players run through, and track stars just run away.
