NFL announces results of fans Pro-Bowl votes; Packers' QB Aaron Rodgers leads – NFL News
The postseason is almost upon us and the National Football League has revealed the current leading players selected by fans votes to make up the National Football Conference and American Football Conference teams.
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers to no surprise is leading the pack with the highest number of votes. Rodgers who is in brilliant form and favourite to win the Most Valued Player award this season has already gained
1,581,982 votes according to the National Football League.
Rodgers whose Packers side are 13-1 this season lost for the first time this year last week against the Kansas City Chiefs 19-14 and with Rodgers leading the side are favourites for the Super Bowl XLVI. The quarterback has created
40 passing touchdowns this season covering 4,360 passing yards and a pass completion rate of 68.1% as he completed 322 passes from 473 attempts.
Aaron Rodgers on Wednesday was also honoured by the
Associated Press who named him the Male Athlete of the Year.
With Rodgers leading the offense for the National Football Conference, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has received the highest number of fans votes to lead the line for the American Football Conference. Brady received
the second highest number of votes overall with 1,454,311 votes.
Tom Brady is AFC’s leading quarterback this season and third overall behind Rodgers and New Orleans Saints Drew Brees. Brady has 35 passing touchdowns to his name covering 4,593 yards completing 351 passes from 530 attempts for
a completion rate of 66.2%.
The fans voting round is now over and their votes count for one-third of the teams selected from the groups. Coaches and Players will now vote this week and their vote counts for one-third each also with the combined result of
the voting the Pro-Bowl teams will be announced on Tuesday December 27th by the National Football League.
According to NFL sources approximately 100 million fans voted for their favourite players the highest number for any season.
New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees received the third highest number of votes with 1,188,893 votes followed by Lions Wide Receiver Calvin Johnson with 1,180,777 and Patriots Wide Receiver Wes Welker completed the top five
with 1,133,787 votes.
The Pro-Bowl game will take place on January 29th at the Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The players who are selected to play in the NFL Pro-Bowl are considered Elite and it is considered a great honour to take part in the pro-bowl and play alongside the best players in the conference as part of an All-Star team.
