NFL commissioner Roger Goodell vows spectacular Super Bowl L - NFL News
The 2015-16 season will see the Super Bowl get back to a single digit number and the National Football League (NFL) already is planning big things for the 50th Super Bowl game.
Commissioner, Roger Goodell, is already planning something special for “Super Bowl L” and is ready to make the experience spectacular for each and every football fan.
Talking to the media on Wednesday, on the side-lines of the NFL Annual meeting at Palm Beach Florida, Goodell said.
"We are looking at plans to make it spectacular,"
Super Bowl L will have to be something special and looking at the previous games we have witnessed it is going to be an amazing experience.
No city has yet been decided to host the Super Bowl but Goodell believes that competition will be huge among cities to bring the biggest sporting event in America to their stadium.
"I do not know who is bidding on it," the commissioner said. "I know there will be quite a bit of competition for it ... and that is an important game for us as a league."
The next three Super Bowl events will be played at New Orleans, New York and Arizona respectively.
Dallas Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones, had already made up his mind as early as February to bring the 50th Super Bowl to Dallas.
The 2012 Super Bowl was the 46th game and was played between the New York Giants and New England Patriots at Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium.
The game was a riveting affair as both huge teams went head to head and the Giants lifted the trophy after defeating the heavily favoured Patriots 21-17.
Bidding for hosting Super Bowl L will start “a year from now” according to the commissioner and sources indicate that Tampa Bay, New Orleans and San Francisco are favourites to win the honour.
Los Angeles, Miami and Indianapolis have small chances while the NFL could also take a huge risk and move the game to London’s Wembley Stadium although that remains a completely remote possibility.
For now though fans should gear up for the new 2012-13 season and hopefully this year’s Super Bowl can outshine even the amazing spectacle of last year.
