The New York Jets suffered a major blow this week when it was revealed Kris Jenkins will miss the rest of the season.

The Jets’ nose tackle tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during New York’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night. The team confirmed the news after an MRI was carried out on Jenkins’ knee, the team also announced the 31-year-old will undergo surgery to repair the ligament
.

Jenkins underwent surgery on the same knee last season and could find his career in jeopardy.

Elsewhere, the Green Bay Packers announced Ryan Grant’s season is also over following a right ankle injury. The running back tore ankle ligaments in the team's win over the Philadelphia Eagles and will now undergo surgery to correct the problem.

Grant ran for over 1200 yards in the last two seasons and will be a big blow to the Packers’ offence.

The Indianapolis Colts safety Bob Sanders has a torn biceps tendon and could be out for the rest of the season. He is scheduled to visit Dr James Andrews on Wednesday to get a second opinion to help determine how long he will be out. Andrews has performed surgery on Sanders in the past.

Another player to visit Dr Andrews is Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford. The sophomore has a shoulder separation, but doesn’t require surgery according to reports. Stafford will miss the Lions’ next game and is doubtful for the week after.

Jake Delhomme twisted his ankle on Sunday and is doubtful for Cleveland’s week two match-up against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Browns are keeping any new injury in-house and are refusing to release details of Delhomme’s MRI results.
