According to reports Ben Rothilsberger wants his four-game ban reduced by commissioner Roger Goodell.

Reports suggest Rothilsberger and his representatives will ask the commissioner to reconsider the six-game ban the quarterback received for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
Rothilsberger was accused by a 20-year-old student of sexual assault in April this year.
Many believe the commissioner will reduce the ban but only by two games, not the three Rothilsberger is reportedly seeking. Despite not being convicted of any crime a suspension was still imposed.

"The Personal Conduct Policy makes clear that I may impose discipline 'even where the conduct does not result in conviction of a crime' as, for example, where the conduct 'imposes inherent danger to the safety and well being of another person' ... or conduct that 'undermines or puts at risk the integrity and reputation of the NFL,” Goodell wrote to the quarterback.

If the ban is reduced to four games the Pittsburgh Steelers star will return in a bye week for the team, giving him an extra week of practice to get into game shape.

The Dallas Cowboys have decided not to play first-round draft pick Dez Bryant in their final pre-season game against the Miami Dolphins. Bryant has missed all of pre-season due to a high ankle sprain and will have to wait until the regular season to make his debut for the team.

"I looked at the big picture... that's how I was able to keep calm, I understand it 100 percent,” Bryant said.

Matt Leinart is going to be traded according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Buffalo Bills, Oakland Raiders and New York Giants have all held discussions about trading for the unwanted Arizona Cardinals quarterback.

Leinhart was dropped from the team's latest pre-season game and now it seems as if he’s being shown the exit door. However, a trade might not be made due to his contract which pays him $2.485 million base salary this season and balloons to $7.36million next season.

The interested teams in Leinhart may wait till after the weekend to see if the Cardinals release the 27-year-old when they will then be able to negotiate a contract of their terms.
