NFL three-team teaser: week one
If you enjoy watching the NFL and enjoying placing a bet, then why not combine both pleasures and go for a three team treble.
You don’t have to pick big outsiders to get a decent price you can easily get 3-1 about three teams that look like pretty easy wins. This week, although week one is never easy, looks like it could provide you with a little extra cash.
Atlanta (1.74) @ Pittsburgh
Atlanta are good. They finished the season 9-7 last season, which was two games worse than the season before, and it looks like they will improve on what was seen as a disappointing year last season. Quarterback Matt Ryan is in his third year meaning he should join the elite ranks of the NFL, if history is anything to go by. Runningback Michael Turner is potentially a top-five RB and if he finds the form of two years ago should be a threat every game. Away at Pittsburgh is a tough game no doubt, but Atlanta are that strong. Consider that Ben Rothilsberger is suspended and won’t play against the Falcons, where will the Steelers score enough points from?
Indianapolis (1.75) @ Houston
Indianapolis has won at least 12 games in each of the past seven seasons and are 15-1 against the Texans. The Colts have Peyton Manning at quarterback, that alone makes the Colts favourite to win. They should have been unbeaten last year but rested players with two games to go and they haven’t lost any major players from last year. Since the schedule was announced the Texans have been talking up the match, almost giving it a Super Bowl feel, but that’s just given Manning even more incentive to prepare for the game. If you bet against the Colts, you’re betting on Manning to have a bad game. When was the last time that happened in the regular season?
Green Bay (1.6) @ Philadelphia
The Packers are many people’s favourites to make it to the Super Bowl this year, and it’s hard to argue with them. They’re good from top-to-bottom and they have two elite weapons in their ranks. Aaron Rodgers is a top quality quarterback and Greg Jennings is an elite wide receiver and Jermichael Finley isn’t bad either. They intercepted the ball 30 times last season and against Kevin Kolb, who is inexperienced , on Sunday should put him under ample pressure to force some turnovers. Add the fact that the Packers have one of the best front seven’s in the league and it just adds up to a Packers win. And don’t forget Rodgers looked sharp in pre-season.
