NFL to hold awards show on February 4th in Indianapolis - NFL News
The National Football League for the first time in its history will hold an awards show the day before the Super Bowl XLVI main event to honour the best players from the 2011-12 season.
The Award show hosted in Indianapolis the home for the 2012 Super Bowl XLVI will be telecast live from the city on the NBC Network with its own red carpet event preceding the main show.
This will be the first time the National Football League will be presenting some of the most important individual honours for players in the league with all seven awards of the associated press featured. Previously the award winners’ names were released
by the Associated Press after taking votes from sports journalists with little fanfare but this time it will be the Oscar’s of Football.
NBC’s hit sitcom “30 Rock” star Alec Baldwin has been shortlisted for hosting the show with musician Lenny Kravitz also performing during the awards.
National Football League Hall of Famers will also be in attendance during what will be a big night for the players who have been nominated. The Awards presented would include the Associated Press’s awards for Most Valued Player, Coach of the Year, Walter
Payton Award for Man of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and many more including Awards for the Best Rookie of the Year.
The Associated Press will ballot the votes for the Awards from some of the biggest analysts and sports journalists while the advertising and sponsorships will be handled by the National Football League.
Sponsors of the show include giants like Pepsi, Castrol and many more big corporations who are official partners of the National Football League.
The event will be held at the Murat Theatre and would be a two hour extravaganza paying homage to the football stars of the past, present and the future.
The Super Bowl main event the very next day is sure to feature some of the winners of the awards and would complete a huge week of football related activity which will begin a week before the Super Bowl game with concerts and pre-game events entertaining
the fans.
