  1. well metal ya that would be a good thing too consider nfl against cfll well let the nfl battle the cfl may the best team win i would say it would be b.c lions against new england patriots who would win then

    Norman

  2. There is no way that the best CFL team can even come close to the worst NFL team. The difference in talent levels are too great. I have stated this observation before and I will again: THE LEVEL OF PLAY IN THE CFL HAS BEEN DECLINING FOR THE PAST FEW SEASONS.  I welcome any CFL diehard to refute me with a differing opinion

  3. no the nfl team would kill. and that is why canadian football players arnt in the nfl.

  4. Well okay, if we're throwing out the fact that this will never happen, because the NFL would never agree to it, then it might be interesting.  I'd also expect it to be a slaughter.  When you have a lotta CFL linebackers that played DB in college, and are far smaller than their NFL counterparts, I'd expect them to get manhandled.  And I think that the Patriots would be able to better adjust to CFL rules than the BC Lions could to the NFL's.  So, I don't see these games being very competitive, at all.

  5. No fun playing the 16-0 Patriots.

They are a team for the ages!!!

  6. r u serious only a chick would ask such a stupid question.

  7. I would LOVE to see a game like that but if there's a tie in the series which game style would the 3rd game use?

  8. I don't think it would be as big a blowout as one might think.  Jeff Garcia played in the CFL for years and is now starting in the NFL and doing very well. Also, remember last year that Ricky WIlliams, the fifth overall pick in the NFL draft played for the Argos and didn't run circles around his CFL opponants. So in some positions the talent level can be pretty equal.

I think there are certain CFL teams that could beat certain NFL teams, for sure. Take the worst NFL team right now: likely the Dolphins. I bet many CFL teams could beat them. Now, if it was the Super Bowl-winning team, that makes things more difficult, but whatever happened to "any given Sunday" (or Saturday!).

The CFL is very pass-heavy because they have one fewer down, so teams that rely on running the ball and grinding games out that way would likely suffer. As we saw with Ricky Williams, even above-average NFL backs aren't impossible to stop in the CFL. Since you can't rely on your running game, you need to have a great quarterback. Not only does he need to be able to pass, he needs to be able to pass without having the running game to set up the pass. He needs to be able to make completions when the defense knows he's going to be passing. So I'm thinking teams like the Jaguars, Titans, and Panthers would have a difficult time adjusting to CFL rules. All those teams are at .500 or better at this point in the season, but they don't have a good enough QB to be successful in the CFL. On the other hand, if you've got Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, or Brett Favre taking snaps for you then you'll win just about anywhere.

And while it would be difficult for CFL teams to adjust to NFL rules and NFL players, they would also have the benefit of getting one more down than they are used to, which would help immensely.

I think if the Super Bowl-winning team played the Grey Cup-winning team, the Super Bowl team would almost certainly win both games, because you almost always need a great QB to win the Super Bowl, or at least a good QB having a great season. And that type of player would translate well into the CFL, for the reasons I mentioned above. So I believe the best of the NFL would beat the best of the CFL. However, I believe that an above-average CFL team could beat an above-average NFL team, so long as the NFL team relied on their run-game instead of the arm of a solid QB.

  9. It might be interesting to see, however it will never happen. The games are just way too different. The players (for example -  linebackers) that play in the NFL are not built for the CFL game and vise verse. There too many rule differences, never mind the actual field.

  10. It would kind of be fun to see Adam Vinetari kick a 77 yard field goal in a tie game.

  11. As much as I hate to admit it, the CFL probably wouldn't do very well. It would still be a great game to watch though.
