NFL’s top performers in week seven
Darren McFadden, Oakland Raiders
We all knew that the Oakland Raiders believed in Darren McFadden, now so does the rest of the league. McFadden looked unstoppable along with the Raiders offence, which generated 59 points against the Denver
Broncos last Sunday.
Most of those points came from the running-back out of the University of Arkansas. McFadden rushed for 165 yards on just 16 carries and averaged a whopping 10.3 yards per rush. He scored three touchdowns
on the ground and added a receiving TD for a total of four scores. McFadden, the fourth overall pick in the 2008 draft, had one of the best games of the 2010 regular season and he showed that he is a multi-dimensional weapon when he is healthy.
Kenny Britt, Tennessee Titans
Kenny Britt made everyone forget that Tennessee’s starting quarterback Vince Young did not play in Week 7 against the Philadelphia Eagles, by making spectacular catches. It didn’t matter who covered Britt,
the receiver made play after play and made a mockery out of the Eagles secondary, with seven receptions for 225 yards and three touchdowns.
The second-year wide receiver didn’t even start the game as Britt allegedly punched an individual in a bar fight on Friday, two days before the game. Scary to think what would have happened had he started
and played the entire game.
DeAngelo Hall, Washington Redskins
Sure, DeAngelo Hall may not be as fast as he was during his days with the Atlanta Falcons, and he may not be the young and energetic cornerback that he was during his days with the Oakland Raiders.
But since Hall has joined the Washington Redskins, he is a more technical and fundamentally sound player. His four interceptions in week seven against Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears proves that. His
four interceptions tied an NFL record and the jersey he wore will be placed in the Hall of Fame.
"I never had anybody crazy enough to keep throwing it at me that many times," Hall said. "He [Cutler] definitely has a strong arm. But sometimes he does try to throw balls he shouldn't throw. I don't know
if that's just a quarterback being cocky and confident or if that's just him. Me as a gambler, if I try something two or three times and it doesn't work, I'm not going to try for the fourth time."
Thomas Jones, Kansas City Chiefs
It really doesn’t seem to matter where Thomas Jones plays, he has always been a productive running-back. He excelled with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears, gave the New York Jets a balanced attack
and now with the Kansas City Chiefs, Jones is showing once again that he is an elite player.
Jones is a main reason why the Chiefs are the number one rushing team in the NFL. He had a solid performance in week seven, rushing for 125 yards on 20 carries and scoring a touchdown. Jones averaged 6.2
yards a carry against the Jacksonville Jaguars and his longest run of the day went for 70 yards.
Hines Ward, Pittsburgh Steelers
Hines Ward is the Steelers' all-time leading receiver and he came up big for his team against the Miami Dolphins. His seven catches for 131 yards and a touchdown helped the Steelers hold off the Dolphins
23-22 in week seven, to sit atop the NFC North with a 5-1 record.
Ward, the physical receiver that he is, also had some key blocks on defenders that sprung his running-backs for some solid gains. He is the vocal leader of this team and any time he is involved in the
game-plan, Pittsburgh is that much harder to beat.
