NHL - Buffalo Sabres host the San Jose Sharks in the second match of Thursday

The Buffalo Sabres will be playing on home against the San Jose Sharks. This is the first of the two meetings between the two teams. The San Jose Sharks are aiming for a third straight win this time out. The second of the games will be played on the 6th
of January 2011. The last time these teams met, the Buffalo Sabres won the match 3-1.
The San Jose Sharks won the match against the Philadelphia Flyers this Wednesday. The match was a very tough encounter that saw the match going into shootout with the Sharks eventually winning the match 5-4. The Sharks came from 4-1 down to level the scores
and took the match into overtime where they couldn’t score and the Flyers came close to scoring but the overtime ended goalless. The match however was won by the Sharks finally after shootout.
"I thought it would count, but the coach ran in here and said it wouldn't and I knew we would win in the shootout," said Couture who has scored 2 out his 2 shoots in shootout.
Logan Couture is in superb form and he has shown this in the last couple of games. Last season this player only managed to score 9 points out of the 25 games but this time he has emerged as one of the best offensive players. So far, he has scored 13 goals
with the last coming against the Flyers this Wednesday.
"He's been arguably our best player," San Jose coach Todd McLellan praised. "He might be surprising a lot of people, but he's not surprising anybody on our club. Guys pull for him, guys root for him, guys know he's the go-to player right now. I know it's
a long year and there will probably be some moments when things aren't going to go his way, but we'll be there to support him and his teammates will be there for him."
"Right now, he's got it going and if we have one individual as a catalyst, it would be him."
San Jose Sharks have currently played 27 games out of which they have won 18 games scoring 32 points. The Buffalo Sabres on the other hand have played 28 games out of which they have won 15 games and have scored 26 points.
The Buffalo Sabres won 2 matches after losing out to the Boston Bruins this Tuesday 3-2 in overtime which salvaged them a point. The match was very tough and took the best out of the player as they rallied up and down the pitch throughout the 60 minutes
of play.
"It's a tough way to lose," Miller said.
The San Jose Sharks will be boosted to learn the fact that they are getting goals from everywhere. Dany Heatley is in hot form and has scored 13 goals along with Logan Couture and Captain Joe Thornton also has been very productive, scoring 7 goals.
Though the Buffalo Sabres might have won the last encounter between the two teams but the San Jose Sharks are currently on a role and expected to win the match. The is predicted to be decided in regular time with the San Jose Sharks coming up with a dominating
performance even though the score might be close.
