does the junior team (Sarnia Sting) receive any financial compensation for Stamkos being drafted by Tampa Bay?

    If so, the NHL isn't taking taking Stamkos away from the team.  Sarnia is part of a league that is 18 and under only.  So he wouldn't be eligible to play for them next year.

  3. Yes, there is an agreement between the CHL and NHL where the leagues are compensated (not the team) for talent development.   the current amount is $25,000/player.  In 1970, it was only $5,000/player.
