NHL Latest – Anaheim Ducks win 3-0 against the Boston Bruins

Boston Bruins playing host to the Anaheim Ducks was the 488th game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series which was played this Monday at the TD Garden. The match saw the home team play the 32nd game of the season while for the Anaheim
Ducks, it was their 37th game of the season. There were around 18,000 fans present at the match.
Although the home team was the better of the two sides on paper, the Anaheim Ducks showed just why matches aren't won on paper as they beat Boston 3-0.
The away side started off strongly which resulted in them coming across scoring chances right from the start. The Ducks successfully scored in the 6th minute to take the lead. The goal was scored through a quick fired powerful strike by Brandon
McMillan.
Anaheim Ducks had a few more chances but they couldn’t score. On the other hand, the home side also had their share of chances but it just didn’t seem to be their day. The period ended with the Anaheim Ducks leading 1-0 going into the break.
During the course of the period, the Anaheim Ducks made 7 goal attempts as opposed to the Boston Bruins' 9.
Starting the period on a high, the Boston Bruins put all their men into the attacks hoping to score an equalizer. However, this wasn’t to be as the Anaheim Ducks caught them on a counter attack and scored to double the lead.
The goal was scored by Lubomir Visnovsky’s powerful long range strike that left the goal keeper with no chance of stopping it in the 5th minute. After the goal, the Boston Bruins again continued with the strategy they opted for, at the start of
the game.
This again went against them as the Ducks scored once again in the 16th minute of the second period to take the score to 3-0. The goal was scored by Corey Perry from a good strike. The period ended with the Ducks leading 3-0. The period saw the
Boston Bruins making a massive 18 goal attempts without any success while the Anaheim Ducks made just 8 goal attempts.
The final period of the match saw both the teams come out with an offensive strategy but the Boston Bruins seemed much more intent on attacking the opposite goal. Their 18 goal attempts compared to the 8 goal attempts of the Anaheim Ducks shows just that.
However, no goals were scored during the course of final period with the Ducks winning the match 3-0.
