NHL Latest – Another upset on the day as Anaheim Ducks beat Philadelphia Flyers 5-2

Anaheim Ducks hosted the Philadelphia Flyers in another game of the Friday. The match was expected to be one a pretty much one side encounter in favour of the Philadelphia Flyers but it turned out to be the other way round. The home team came up with a splendid
performance in the 562nd game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series to win the match 5-2 to cause another upset on Friday. Jason Blake was named the star selection of the match with his two goals and four shots on goal.
Anaheim Ducks was quick to get out of the blocks. The home team with the backing of the home crowd was able to pile up attacks after attacks which got them into scoring positions frequently.
Anaheim Duck’s defence along with the offence played brilliantly on the night and scored the opening goal through Jason Blake’s backhand shot in the 6th minute. Anaheim Ducks pressed on and came across more scoring chances but failed to capitalize.
Philadelphia Flyers also started to come up with attacks and displayed some excellent skills on the pitch. They had several chances to score but fortunately none of the shots found the back of the net. The period ended with the Ducks leading by 1 goal.
The second period was pretty much even if we talk about shots made on goal but this time out the conversion of chances into goals was higher. Anaheim Ducks was able to neutralize the strong offence of the Flyers with some excellent defence. The home crowd
went wild when they scored in the 4th minute to double the lead with the goal scored by Lubomir Visnovsky.
The Ducks stunned the fourth placed team in the league by another goal scored by Jason Blake in the 6th minute. After scoring, Anaheim Ducks concentrated more on keeping possession rather than attacking.
As a result, Flyers got a lot of space and scored in the 9th minute through Andreas Nodl’s powerful strike. Both teams made 10 goal attempts in the period as Anaheim Ducks led 3-1 into the break.
Philadelphia Flyers made a great start to the final period by scoring early in the 3rd minute through Jeff Carter to cut the lead to just one goal.
However, Anaheim Ducks wrapped up the match first scoring in the 6th minute through Bobby Ryan and then in the 17th minute through Lubomir Visnovsky with score on 5-2.
