St. Louis Blues played host to the Detroit Red Wings in 513th game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series.
The match took place this Thursday at the Scottrade Arena in front of around 19,000 fans. Detroit Red Wings are among the top three teams in the league currently while the St. Louis Blues are in the 18th spot.
St. Louis Blues surprised everyone as they beat the strong Detroit Red Wings teams 4-3. This was the 34th game of the season for both the sides as they fought the battles to climb up the table.
Both teams made a decent start to the match and attacked regularly. The St. Louis Blues was the first to score in the 14th minute to take the lead. The goal was scored by Erik Johnson from a powerful strike.
The away team’s attack was very strong and this was shown as they scored in the same minute to level the scores. The goal was scored by Johan Franzen from a well-placed flick shot. Both team just exploded and made attacks after attacks.

Detroit Red Wings came up with attacks too after the goal. They combined well and the shooting at the end of the plays was good. Detroit scored through Nicklas Lidstrom from a powerful strike in the 12th minute to trail by two goals.
Detroit were determined to score to get near the St. Louis Blues before going into the break. They scored once again in the 17th minute to cut the lead to just one goal. The goal was scored by Patrick Eaves from a decent strike.
The period ended with the St. Louis Blues leading 4-3 as they made 7 goal attempts while the Detroit Red Wings made 14 goal attempts.
The final period was totally dominated by the Detroit Red Wings as they made 15 goal attempts during the course of the period but unfortunately, they failed to score. Though their defence and offence were both very strong but no goal was scored in the final
period as the St. Louis Blues won the match 4-3.
Detroit Red Wings made 38 goal attempts in the match while the St. Louis Blues made 4 goal attempts. Patrik Berglund was named the star selection of the match for his 2 goals.
