NHL Special Report – Defending Champions outperform New York Islanders winning the match 5-0

Defending Champions Chicago Blackhawks hosted the 626th game of the NHL regular season at the United Centre as they were up against the New York Islanders. The match was played this Sunday in front of around 21,000 fans. Chicago Blackhawks totally
dominated game coming up with brilliant performance winning the match 5-0. The Hawks stepped up their game in the second period scoring four goals. Goalie of the Hawks, Corey Crawford was player of the match as he made 25 saves keeping the clean sheet intact.
Chicago Blackhawks with the strong offence was the expected to dominate the game which they certainly did. Starting off in a brilliant manner coming up with splendid pieces of play the defending champions scored through the inform Patrick Sharp to take the
lead in the 5th minute.
The Hawks totally dominated the game with New York Islanders coming up with the occasional goal attempts with most coming on counter attacks. However, despite the numerous goal attempts made in the period no further goals were scored as the period ended
with the Hawks leading 1-0.
During the course of the period Hawks made 16 goal attempts while New York Islanders made 8 goal attempts.
Chicago Blackhawks shifted gears in the second period and managed to double the lead scoring through Marian Hossa in the 3rd minute. The home team with the backing of the home crowd grew in confidence as scored once again this time the goal was
scored by Patrick Kane.
Dave Bolland was the next player who put his name on the score sheet for the Hawks scoring through a brilliant flick shot in the 17th minute. Chicago completed the dominated performance in the period with their fifth goal in the final period scored
by Niklas Hjalmarsson from a powerful strike. T
The period ended with Chicago Blackhawks leading 5-0 as they made 16 goal attempts while New York Islanders made 7 goal attempts.
The final period saw both teams coming up with shots on goal but no goals were scored. The first half of the period saw the Hawks on top but they made a few changes and the attacks finished. On the other hand, New York Islanders came across scoring chances
as the period neared its end. However, the failed to convert the chances and the period and match ended with Chicago Blackhawks winning the match 5-0.
