NHL Update: Boston Bruins power to 3-0 win over New Jersey Devils
The 248th game of 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series saw Boston Bruins play host to New Jersey Devils at the TD Garden in front of 17,500 fans this Monday. Devils played their 18th game while Bruins their 15th of the campaign
thus far.
Devils made a firing start as they dominated the possession early on and came up with some decent goal attempts but unfortunately couldn’t still find the back of the net.
Bruins struck first with a goal in the 16th minute, scored by Michael Ryder through a simple flick shot that was perfectly placed. Both teams couldn't capitalize on the other goal scoring chances so the 1st period ended with Bruins leading 1-0
as they made 10 goal attempts while Devils made 7.
The 2nd period started on a high for Bruins as they scored again with the first play to double their lead. The goal was scored by Nathan Horton through a simple strike that went flying into the net. The home team pressed on while attacks also
came from Devils. Both sides matched each other's efforts but it was just a matter of grabbing chances. The 2nd period ended 2-0 in the favour of home squad as each team made 7 goal attempts.
The final period saw Bruins come out at the top of their game. Not only did they display some splendid passing skills but their shooting also was a treat to watch. This resulted in the home team scoring their 3rd goal through Blake Wheeler and
via a powerful strike.
The final period as well as the match ended with Bruins winning 3-0. In the final period, Bruins made 7 goal attempts while Devils made 14.
