NHL Updates – Vancouver Canucks come up with an impressive 4-1 win against the Dallas Stars
Dallas Stars played hosted the 563rd game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series as they were up against the Vancouver Canucks. Vancouver Canucks was the only top placed team that managed to come up with a win against the team below them. The
Dallas Stars is currently in the 7th spot while the Canucks is placed in the 3rd spot. The away team was able to come up with a brilliant performance as they scored four goals during the course of the period and allowed only one as the
Canuck won 4-1. Cory Schneider, goal keeper of the Vancouver Canucks was named the star selection of the match as he made 44 saves.
Dallas Stars made a great start to the match firing a few shots and displaying some decent passing abilities. They combined well and got past the opposing defence regularly but failed to score.
With the passage of time, the away side also managed to come up with decent pieces of play. Vancouver Canucks settled into the game and successfully scored in the 18th minute through Daniel Sedin to take the lead.
They away side was able to score once again in the same minute to double the lead. The goal was scored by Raffi Torres from a spectacular backhand shot. The away side made a few more goal attempts but no further goals were scored as the Vancouver Canucks
led 2-0 into the break with both teams making 8 goal attempts.
Dallas Stars was the stronger of the two teams in the second period and made a lot goal attempts. Cory Schneider showed a lot character and made save after save. On the other hand, Vancouver came up with a very strong front line.
The away side scored in the 10th minute through Henrik Sedin to take the score to 3-0. Vancouver Canucks scored once again through Kevin Bieksa to complete a dominating performance. The period ended with Vancouver Canucks leading 4-0 as they made
7 goal attempts while the Dallas Stars made 18 goal attempts.
Dallas Stars started off brilliantly once again and scored in the 4th minute through Brenden Morrow from a flick shot to score. The goal was just a consolation one. However, Dallas Stars made 19 goal attempts but no goals were scored as the match
ended 4-1 in favour of the Vancouver Canucks.
