  1. They all have a good shot at a comeback. The ones that are a bit worrisome for me would be Teppo Numminen. I hope his heart is better and that he can last the season. He is a great player.

Souray worries me a bit as well. He seems to have gotten lost . Maybe he can find himself and get back on track

  2. Of the list, I think the defensemen are going to be the biggest comeback players.  Of the list, I think Dan Boyle will have the biggest comeback.  He missed so much of last season due to a freak injury and I believe the change in scenery will help.  Phillipe Boucher and Sheldon Souray also should have a nice season if he is healthy.  If I were Souray, I think I might actually prefer to stay home with the wife though.

Given Simon Gagne and Patrice Bergeron's concussion histories, I would not be surprised to see either of them go down again or play tentatively.

Zednik will be interesting.  It was frightening to watch, it had to be frightening to go through.  His question will be whether it is going to sit in the back of his mind on the ice.

I believe Brind'Amour will come back from his injury fine.  Few players in the league work as hard as he does.  I think his bigger issue is his age. At 38 how long can he continue to be productive?

Afinogenov is in a contract year, expect him to be on the ice and producing.

I either don't know or don't care enough about the other players to have a legitimate opinion.

  3. I think that all of them have a good chance at a comeback season, but here are my top 3.

Havlat. He has proved that he has the ability to put up big numbers when he stays healthy. Each year if he were to remain injury free he would most likely crack the top 20 in scoring

great season if injury free especially with the help of the young guns (kane, toews, and sharp)

Gagne. Pretty much the same deal. Has shown the skill but had an injury plagued 2007-08 year. Should be back above 75 points this year.

Maxim Afinogenov. I like his style of play. Injuries and the departure of Briere and Drury contributed to an off season for him. Maxim definitely has the skill to compete in this league and i think that 2008-09 will be his year

  4. 1. Maxim Afinogenov, yes. he was starting to get his game back late in the season

    2. Patrice Bergeron, absolutely. Full recovery

    3. Philippe Boucher, no

    4. Dan Boyle, no. He's peaked

    5. Rod Brind'Amour, yes

    6. Simon Gagne, absolutely.

    7. Martin Havlat. Better than last year but still not up to his potential

    8. Ethan Moreau,yes

    9. Brendan Morrison. Don't know

    10. Teppo Numminen, yes, definately

    11. Michael Nylander, marginally better but not a return to form

    12. Sheldon Souray, yes

    13. Jason Williams, doubtful

    14. Richard Zednik, yes

  5. 1. Maxim Afinogenov-Defiently

    2. Patrice Bergeron-No doubt he will return in form

    3. Philippe Boucher-Hands down

    4. Dan Boyle-yep, easily

    5. Rod Brind'Amour-No problem for Rod the Bod

    6. Simon Gagne-I surely think so if he doesnt get hurt..again.

    7. Martin Havlat-same as Simon Gagne

    8. Ethan Moreau-Honestly no.

    9. Brendan Morrison-Did he really tail off somewhere?

    10. Teppo Numminen-Toss up

    11. Michael Nylander-Nope.  Age getting to him now.

    12. Sheldon Souray-Yep, one of the best fantasy defensemens

    13. Jason Williams-Meh, never been the best of plaeyrs to me anyways

    14. Richard Zednik-I see him returning to form.

    Good list.

  6. Afinogenov - yes

    Bergeron- definitely

    Boucher- not so much

    Boyle- definitely

    Brind'Amour- not really

    Gagne- yes

    Havlat- haha

    Moreau- ehh

    Morrison- yes

    Numminen- maybe a bit

    Nylander- yes

    Souray- maybe a lil

    Williams- somewhat

    Zednik- yes

  7. Boyle and Souray: Both came back too soon from injuries last season. With the extra time to mend during the off-season, I'm expecting good things from both.

Bergeron should be back to a 70-80 point scorer.

Williams I though was a steal for Atlanta. I was hoping the Isles would have signed him.

The rest will be a wait and see.....

  8. 1. Maxim Afinogenov- Lazy, seen his best days

    2. Patrice Bergeron- Depends on how his mental staus is after that injury, he has nowhere to go but up

    3. Philippe Boucher- Should be steady

    4. Dan Boyle- He should fit in perfectly

    5. Rod Brind'Amour- He is still a decent player, but has seen his best days already

    6. Simon Gagne- Not sure, think his days are numbered... he will surely avoid as many hits as possible thus eliminating part of his game

    7. Martin Havlat- LOL- INJURED by week 2

    8. Ethan Moreau-??

    9. Brendan Morrison- Umm, no scoring on the ANA second line.. it will depend if they split the first line up to balance 2 lines or Selanne coming back

    10. Teppo Numminen- Stay at home guy as of now... Solid, but not many points

    11. Michael Nylander- Interesting, depends on who he plays with

    12. Sheldon Souray- Solid guy, will get back to his averages

    13. Jason Williams- Interesting also, KOVS, Williams, Armstrong? Lots of points if so

    14. Richard Zednik- He will be back to the same and maybe achieve more
