NHL latest – Tampa Bay Lightning win 3-2 against the Atlanta Thrashers

Atlanta Thrashers hosted the 523rd game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series as they were up against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The match took place at the Philips Arena in front of nearly 15,000 fans as the home team hoped to win the match
and climb up in on the points table. This was the 36th game of the season for the Tampa Bay Lightning while the Atlanta Thrashers played the 38th game of their campaign.
The home team, Atlanta Thrashers made a few early goal attempts after which the away side dominated the rest of the period. Tampa Bay Lightning didn’t give the home team any space to work with and unsettled them with splendid passing and plays.
Tampa Bay scored in the 9th minute to take control of the match. The goal was scored by the youngster Steven Stamkos from a simple in shot. Tampa Bay continued to stack up shots after shots but unfortunately didn’t score and the period ended with

again.

The final period of the match saw the home start stronger which saw them scoring in the 17th minute to level the match. The goal was scored by Freddy Modin from a spectacular backhand shot. The period ended with the scores levelled on 2-2 with
the Thrashers making 9 goal attempts while the Tampa Bay Lightning made 9 goal attempts.
The match went into overtime during which the Tampa Bay Lightning scored through Vincent Lecavalier’s decent strike as the Tampa Bay won 3-2.
