NHL or International hockey - Which do you prefer?

Question

Do you enjoy the NHL game more, or do you prefer the Olympics, World Championships, Spengler, WJC, etc.?

Which do you prefer, and why?

I like the wide open style of international play, I feel like the NHL has moved closer to this and it is the way that they plan to expand their game to the every man, by keeping the puck flowing freely they will bring in more fans and let people like Matthew Barnaby find a real job instead of sticking around as a thug that can't skate!

NHL. Well first, it feels better knowing most of the players in the NHL, because the Olympic teams have many players we havent really heard of before. Second, playoff beards, those are the best. You can't go wrong with the beard.

I love the collection of talent at the Olympics but, nothing compares to the NHL playoffs for intensity and drama.

The NHL by far. Apart from the Soviet union there has never been a huge bitter rivalry like there is in the NHL.

Internationals now are not as heated as the league. Like ss98 said your league team is like your family and you grow to love them :)

The drama of it all and the highs and lows of following your team are what makes the NHL so special.

To me anyway.

I relate to the NHL as I know the teams and players more than the International squads.

I enjoy both, but I definately enjoy the NHL alot more. I think it has to do with a team I follow and am loyal to as a fan. It's like rooting for family. Whereas World championships is more like rooting for my country. Family first..it's just not the same.

I love watching the pros compete in international competitions, but nothing compares to the NHL. When all of those nationalities come together to form a brotherhood, and live and die for each other on that ice.

I enjoy international competitions more. And that's for any sport. I even enjoy watching the Little League World Series. Anybody who represents their country in a competition has my respect.
