  1. Yes they will be only running 1000 feet at every remaining event this year. NHRA hasn't decided (or at least told the public) if it will be 1000 feet next year too. I have a feeling it will be. I'm sure they want to keep it the same at every track and it would be super expensive for the tracks to extend the shut down areas. Also some owners of the tracks that have shorter shut down areas don't own enough land to extend the shut down area any. As for the records I guess they will have to set new ones.

  2. Yes they are....They will have to start a whole new record book or start slowing the cars down like nascar does.

  3. The rest of the year. I have done 1000 foot racing and it is almost as good as a 1/4 and better than 1/8 mile.

  4. The 1000 ft finish line they have for Nitro cars I do believe will be there for the rest of the year. Its just a temporary fix until they get something else figured out. NHRA will have something done by next year set in stone. I don't think the 1000ft line will stay after this year. Its just a safety thing right now. It was a knee jerk decision but I think it was right. I love that NHRA! Go Larry Dixon!!
