NINTENDO WII ERROR CODE #001?

ON SOME BACKUP GAMES MY CHIPPED WII READS ERROR #001 "UNAUTHORIZED DEVICE HAS BEEN DETECTED" WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? IT HAS HAPPENED SINCE I GOT A WII FIT WHICH IT WONT PLAY BUT IT STILL PLAYS OTHER BACKUPS AND ORIGINAL GAMES PLEASE ADVISE, MY LITTLE ONE IS GOING TO DRIVE ME UP THE WALL

Do NOT call Nintendo Customer service and tell them about your modded Wii. They will not help you.

Also, do not use all caps, it's extremely annoying and I was very reluctant to want to help you.

Anyway, the most logical reason for this is the media that you're burning with. Making a backup of a game will not replicate the game flawlessly everytime so there will be instances like this where you'll have some backups that don't work. Also, not every game will take the backup as well as others.

All I can really suggest is to use more high-quality brand DVD+R and make sure your burner is also high-quality. This will reduce failures in backing up. You can also just take good care of your originals so you don't need backups in the first place, but that's just me.

And to answer your question very directly, the error 001 essentially means that it won't take the disc because it isn't recognized as an original copy of the game. Mod chips aren't perfect and they can't trick the Wii all the time, so you may possibly be out of luck.

P.S. Keep in mind, by having a modded Wii you may be locked out of receiving Wii updates, or even worse an update may render your Wii system unusuable. This is the proposed plan by Nintendo. I don't know if they've gone through with it yet, but don't take your system online just to play it safe.

you need to update your chip.

get the update, burn it to disk, put it in the wii, tada. ;-)

an update will only render your wii useless (bricked) if you try and update a PAL wii with an NTSC disk, or visa versa!!!
