When taking the parallel parking section for the road test in Wayne, NJ do both hands need to be on the wheel or can have my right arm on the seat behind me when backing into the space?

  1. You must have both hands on the wheel at all times and you must use your mirrors........

    This is the same for all states..........


  2. You will have to physically look back to check behind you . Thus it is impossible to have both hands on the wheel . Putting your arm across the top or the back of the passenger seat is acceptable . Just keep the brake covered and go light on the throttle.
