NJ Real Estate Question(Going through two brokers)?

Hey,

So I want to rent an apartment in NJ. I went through one guy, and I didnt trust him for the life of me. He kept cancelling appointments and upped the price on a listing and what not. He did show me one place that I liked.

Another realtor is showing the same place. Here's my question. Can I go to that realtor and rent the place through him(He is also offering a discounted broker's fee) or by law, do I have to go to the original realtor?

Thanks!

  1. Inform the second broker.

The two brokers and owner will work it out between themselves.

  2. I suggest that you inform the second broker that the first broker showed you the same place.  The second broker probably will not be able to collect his commission on that particular unit.
