Your team finishes 15+ games over .500 ends up missing the playoffs while the winner of the NL West wins their division with a record 5 or more games under 500?

Right now the NL West is terrible. They all have losing records against the NL East teams and have only 2 winning records against the NL Central teams. They just take turns beating up on each other.

  1. It will bother me as a cardinals fan, but thats just the way the cookie crumbles.  Surely the wild card will get in from the central, and before 1994 ? when there was no wild card teams had to just worry about winning the division.  I think it's a bonus that a 2nd place team from the best division gets in, which fixed some of the wrongdoings of 100 win teams not making the playoffs, but there is nothing reasonable you can do to prevent it.

  2. Well, it's part of the game & rules  but I am only stating my opinion.

  3. it wouldn't be the 1st time a lesser team in a lesser division got in & it won't be the last...... it's part of the game, we'll deal with it.

  4. That was part of the reason they added the wildcard but in the NL Central someone is going to be disappointed.  The three best teams (record wise) in the NL are in the Central.  It would be bothersome because you team would be better but didn't get in.  Unfortunately its going to happen.

  5. WHOOP! NL WEST!

  6. I'm an AL East girl, but honest to goodness, the NL West is pathetic. I would probably shake my head in horror if/when that happens.

  7. That would suck if the Cards didn't get in with a good record and either the Dodgers or D'backs got in with a sub-.500 record. I would hate it for a while.

  8. I would be. I'm a cardinals fan and they are 15 games over .500 and not even leading their division. If they were in almost any other division they would be leading their division easily.

  9. It would certainly suck.  Between the Cubs, Cardinals, and Brewers, one of them is not making the playoffs.  The good part is the D-Backs/Dodgers will lose in the NLDS, no matter who they play.

If it were up to me, I would make every NL West team forfeit their season and send the Cubs, Cardinals, and Brewers to the playoffs along with the NL East winner.

  10. I would be mad...but it's part of the game.  I'm a Cards fan.  A couple of years back it was thought that we had no business in the playoffs with "more deserving" teams.  As it turned out, we ended up winning the whole darn thing (thanks Tigers).  The point is anything can happen in the game of baseball, but truly it looks as if this year the cellar can be found in the NL West...I don't see a story like last years Rockies coming out of that division.

  11. a whole d**n lot, do you think bud selig would consider a request to send the mets to the nl west?

  12. not really it just means that they suck and won't make it far anyway

  13. Start calling the NEW YORK METS to The NEVADA METS lol NL WEST needs a better team.

this would p**s me off more if the nl west team wins the world series
