Does it bother anyone else that the Diamondbacks can lead their division with a losing record, when teams like the Yankees are 10 over .500 and are in third place?

  1. my dbacks just beat the cubs 2 in a row. they have struggled but don't count them out just yet. it doesn't bother me at all

  2. Pretty sure the divisions are decided geographically. So unless you want the Yankees to move to Portland, OR and switch to the NL, suck it up. There has been a cycle of horrible divisions, going from AL Central to NL Central to NL West.

  3. Honestly, I find it exciting. Its still a race, and thats all that matters.

And the AL east is the best division in baseball...so its not the best comparison to the NL west.

  4. As a Diamondbacks fan, no it doesn't bother me. If I was you, yes it probably would. If your team was in the same position, you would have a different opinion.

It is kind of embarrassing though...

  5. Uh this is nothing new...Last year the Cubs had a worse record than the Wild Card Rockies and the Padres and Mets had better records than them and in 06 when St.Louis win the World series, the Phillies, who missed the playoffs, had a better record than them and so on.

  6. The Dbacks are still a VERY good team

  7. Wait?!?!  The NL West is terrible?!?!  Good lord, where have you been the past few seasons?  Compare team salaries also, outside of LA the NL West teams are all in the bottom half of MLB when it comes to salary money.  And I hope to the baseball God's that the Yankees don't make the playoffs directly because of the Tampa Bay Rays.  Let's compare payrolls:

    $209,081,579 for the Yankees and...

    $43,820,598 for the TB Rays.

And you want sympathy?  Hah.  You guys weren't complaining when you were clubbing teams in the AL East like they were baby seals.  Maybe that payroll can buy you a farm system.  Oh that's right..who needs a farm system when you can just let the small market/salary teams develop those prospects for you to buy up when they enter a contract year!  I'm a Dbacks fan by the way and our offense may be bad but it isn't THIS bad.  They should definitely be above .500 by the end of the season, ask the Cubbies how bad they are.  Jon Rauch was also a big addition to are horrible bullpen (as of late).
